Sweet Salone Plaque

This plaque was made for an Autodesk Fusion360 competition where I placed in the top 3 and it has personal significance as it is inspired from a plaque I got when I visited my home country of Sierra Leone. The original plaque I bought was hand carved out of wood and says greetings from Sierra Leone With the flag, houses, and trees. I decided to make a plaque representative of some of my favorite things about Sierra Leone: the mixed religious make up (as my family is both Muslim and Christian), the beautiful mountains, and the ocean as well.

The design process after conceptualizing my idea began by making the overall shape. I then imported a canvas of Sierra Leone which I traced to make the center outline. I then freehanded the mountains and the sea. After, I imported canvases to trace for the crescent moon and cross. I then added text saying Sweet Salone along a curve. I then extruded different features of the piece to create different dimensions. Once I was satisfied I filleted the edges till I reached the desire shape.
